Cork city has gone to the dogs.

I often wonder how close any of us are from being like that. How an event in your life could send you down that path.
Abuse, alcoholism, drugs, homelessness, hopelessness, death.
I bet most have stories so horrific, so dehumanising and disturbing, that we in our comfortable lives don't want to hear about.

Crack away lads, keep stamping down on them.
Never mind demanding they get the help they badly need.

True, in many cases they were doomed from the start due to parents drinking ,
You are correct in saying for some it could be just an unfortunate event in their lives which could be a tipping point,
 
I was in town yesterday for the first time in ages. I couldn't get over how run down the place looked. Debenhams looks awful. 6 or 7 homeless lying down at entrance to the Savoy. People sitting around begging. Units boarded up etc. It was all very grim.
A few years ago I used be in every weekend for a stroll around, grab a coffee, have a look in the shops, but it's not a bit enticing to me to go in there anymore unless I've a reason to go in.
