Cork city has gone to the dogs.

I was in the city centre Saturday night and yesterday evening and there were plenty of them around. I suppose they can't be everywhere and it is a deterrent for some but not for others!

That's the thing that always comes up when theres a serious incident in town. "And where were the Gardai?"

Wouldn't it be so much better if criminals could give the Gardai a call when they plan on committing a crime, so the Gardai can be on the scene in advance

Comment section are chronic for this. You'd have someone collapse all hours of the morning miles away and everyone up in arms where were the guards?

Big scrap on the road at the junction of Grand Parade and Oliver Plunkett st about 8pm Sunday evening , a few hoodlums in tracksuits kicking a guy on the ground who got a fair hammering and stood up asking for phones to ring his buddies.
I'd put money on it being the lads I've described a few pages back

Not exactly city related to an extent but

Bank of Ireland Little Island ATM was hit last night.
Mallow last week.

Armed raids on shop/forecourts are also starting to rise.

This is a sign a big crash/recession is coming and coming fast.
I feel for staff of shops and also banks and post office now - scary times ahead and people should be allowed go to work without fear their office/building has been damaged or risk of someone physically coming in.

Why do you think a couple of bank robberies (or more) are a sign of a 'big crash / recession'?

Sorry but how do you equate a big crash / recession coming fast, by scum attacking ATM machines ?
