Cork city has gone to the dogs.

361k spent on restoring fireman's hut by CCC, including 5k on scaffolding for an eight foot high structure that seems to have about a 40 square foot base. Outdoing the OPW is CCC.
So it turns out the final cost for restoring this glorified garden shed is somewhere north of €400k. CCC pissing away money as usual 🙄

The cost of restoring Cork's iconic 'fireman’s rest' structure on Anglesea Street has risen again, topping €400,000, while an audit report has said the project was not a good use of the council’s 'limited resources'.

The conservation work was completed last year, yet the structure already appears to be rusting.

At audit, management advised that the project was expected to cost €403,000, mainly comprising €254,000 on conservation and restoration works, €126,000 on paving and hard landscaping works, and €23,000 on consultants’ fees.
Ya couldn’t make it up.

It's a respectful culture that maintains open social areas.

Ireland does not have that.
I’m going to say it was an insult to the people of Cork to begin with to pass off this shithole as a park, while burning €7million of taxpayers money. The disrespect started in Cork City Council, on the desk of the fucking morons who designed and approved this monstrosity.

If any of you have a family member or friend who’s responsible for this “park”, tell them I said they’re a cunt.
