Cork city has gone to the dogs.

I live reasonably close to one of the biggest Garda Stations in the country. I couldn't tell you the last time I saw gardai out on the beat, actually out walking on the street. THere's a few going around the place in cars, and parking them wherever they feel like often causing traffic issues, but actually walking the beat? No 😞
Anglesea Street station is a more of an Administrative building for Gardai in the Southern Region.
Yes there are Gardai based there who's job is to police the city centre with their colleagues from The Bridewell.
To think that a huge building has any reflection on how many Gardai should be on the beat is naive.

I don't live a million miles from the Bridwell either, and given that St Vincent's Bridge a few hundred yards from the Bridwell is drug-central it's a bit naive to think that Gardai are even regularly walking the beat just across the river on Popes Quay and the North Mall.

But hey ho - I'll say black so you can say white

I was dropping one of the kids across town Sunday morning. We saw 5 cop cars in our couple of mile journey. Overtime on a Sunday I assume.

Here is the thing, Pope's Quay and North Mall are not in the Garda City Centre district.
Those 2 places are actually in the Gurranbraher district.
So Gardai from the Bridewell would not be on the beat there or responding to calls there unless it was a major incident or called to back up colleagues.

You must be a very fast walker by the way if you consider you live close to Anglesea Street and The Bridewell.

Oh and mind that e in Bridewell

No if you are incorrect in any of your posts I will only be too glad to help you out.
