I train with a fella who's a guard and they reckon we'd have between 1500-2000 extra members now if they didn't shut it down. clownsIn the top 5 imbecile moves by this Fine Gael government, shutting down Templemore has to be up there.
Until they have to call an ambulance for treatment and transport to a local ED where friends and relatives will proceed to abuse staff members for not doing a good enough job. That's generally all "outlaws", not just the Travelling communityIt's the way they've always sorted things out. No guards, no solicitor's letters, no law just bare fists and some purchases from the gardening tools section.
As you have said yourself it is the lack of a decent opposition party that sees them secure, SF biggest mistake was trying to be a bit of all things to everybody,Anywhere you look basic services such as GP places, school places, Garda numbers are all in a worse state after 13 years of these ? in office.
Lol that's ignoring projects like the Event Centre. (Any minute now).
(Fianna Fail are a total rabble under the personality cult of Martin b4 I'm accused of bashing one party).
We are a very strange country in that we blame the opposition for the failures of those in power.
We can expect hate speech laws, the ramping up of Integration (currently costing 6 million a day!!!) and much more when we vote these arch incompetents back in ?
I keep saying this, but the "long term/traditional SF voter", who over the past year or two has abandoned the party due to "woke", clearly spent too much time buying bodhrans from Port Laoise or Sniper At Work calendars for the kitchen instead of understanding what the party stands for, and more importantly, has stood for over the past 2-3 decades(long before FG abandoned the red cheeks and comb overs of their base). As you have said yourself it is the lack of a decent opposition party that sees them secure, SF biggest mistake was trying to be a bit of all things to everybody,
They may have kept the woke voter onside but they have pissed off the long term SF voter who have now moved elsewhere,
If Labour had a decent leader they would make progress,
Yet his personal rating among the public seems high,Michael Martin has Fianna Fail hovering around 18%, close to their 2011 nadir of 17.8% of the vote.
This despite being part of a 'successful' coalition.
How he is still leading that party is beyond me ?
The Govt has also go very lucky as this time last year there was serious talk of a recession which has now evaporated while inflation, energy costs and interest rates are now down or falling.Yet his personal rating among the public seems high,
