Concerts

My brother loves his music and is a seriously talented musician who busks around town, but he's in a wheelchair.

James Taylor is one of his favorites, but he couldn't get a wheelchair ticket to the gig in the Marquee tonight. My dad brought him down to the area so they could hear the music from outside.

Someone, I don't know who yet but I will find out, brought both my brother and my dad into the Marquee for free so they could watch the gig. My mum sent me a photo of the two of them there.

Tears, lads. You've got a friend.

That’s lovely MOE. James Taylor is bloody brilliant. Great that your brother got to see him.

James Taylor and Carly Simon were married for a time in the 70s and 80s. Carly Simon actually appears as a backing singer in Taylor’s How Sweet it is. Taylor hasn’t spoken to her since their divorce.

Just back from the James Taylor concert. He’s some entertainer in fairness.

I’d say the average age of the crowd was mid-60s but they were on their feet giving it large.

He can still hit those high and low notes despite his age and miles on the clock

Heard someone had asked one of the various music icons about the incessant drug taking at The Trubidor back in the day and yerman said “Yeah, I partied - but nobody partied like James Taylor” 😜

Pity that the bar was shut from about 7:15 til just after 8 but we got there in the end 😎

Pity they didn't keep it closed until the interval break.
More flutes in and out to the bar while James Taylor was in full flow.
One man came in late, went through messages on his phone , disappeared to the bar, returned balancing a load of pints in a manner that would have got him the golden buzzer on americas got talent.
Taylor was superb as were his backing singers

I went out to the bar, but only an inconsiderate moron would ask to pass people during a song. Got up during a break and waited out by the exit to listen to the next song up and didn’t know it so left and again waited on return for break in the singing.

Were a few weirdos there though “I love you JT” screamed one woman in her 60s, and someone else shouted “I love you
more” - Taylor very subtly ripped the piss out of them. Then there was a guy a couple seats in front of me kept screaming “Angel of Fenway” every 20 minutes.
FFS Taylor even showed the audience his play list written in chalk on the back of some “roofing material” - he wasn’t going to change just to placate a nutter in the audience who kept shouting.

Great night overall though - Mrs who wasn’t really into him really enjoyed it too
