I went to Elton John in the Marquee and thought it was 10/10, but I'd be a big fan of his. Didn't bother with SVPUC as I don't think it would have topped the Marquee show.

But yeah fuck all for actual music fans there.

Era the Marquee is a disgrace too. At least Bonamassa was something different last year but as a big Rory Gallagher fan I thought it was fairly underwhelming. He fucking ruined A Million Miles Away.

Here's a conundrum for all of you music fans;

On the 4th of June 1976 - The Sex Pistols performed the first of two gigs at Manchester's Lesser Free Trade Hall.

This gig is thought to be seminal because it was poorly attended but nearly everyone who attended went on to form an influential band - namely;

Joy Division/New Order
The Buzzcocks and in turn Magazine
The Smiths
John Cooper Clarke
The Fall
Tony Wilson (Factory Records)
Alan McGee (Creation Records)

Mick Hucknall was also there. He went on to form Simply Red not long after.

So I ask you this; would music in general be better or worse off if there was a tragic, widespread and fatal fire in the Less Free Trade Hall that night?
