going to waterboys in Dublin in September, rarely go to dublin for gigs but this is a special one...luckily i have already booked wynns hotel with my mate going as well...the gig is on September 5th.. i reckon the price of the rooms has gone up now that there is a womens boxing match same night.

I rarely go to Dublin for concerts. As you said the whole process from transport, accommodation etc is a massive pain in the hole. This one Im going to on my way back from a family holiday. We're all going to go after we arrive back in Dublin airport(which is also a dose but sometimes unavoidable)
I am a massive music snob though.
Im already judging you and I dont even know what crap music you like.

Last time I saw them was in City Hall in 1991.

We don't have to just accept it as some fact of life that concert tickets are expensive. It's just extortion because promotors know people will know pay it as they need the photos for Instagram.

Dynamic pricing is a scam as that other poster has pointed out.

I'd be interested to know how many people got one of the €40 K.T. Taylor tickets yesterday. Not many I'd imagine.

If people are happy to pay whatever amount is asked, that's not a problem. They can stay at home if they want. As a point of reference, tickets were broadly in line with LP prices back in the 80s. Now you could probably buy hard copies of all of an artist's catalogue and still have change in your pocket for the price of a backrow seat.

I was on a 30th in Kilkenny about 10 years ago and after getting full up on drink I decided to go to a chipper.

Anyway there was Boppy walking down the street eating a cheese burger and this aul doll comes over to me. Firstly she asks me for a bite of the burger, I obliged. She then asks was I single. No says I, I’ve a girlfriend.

She slapped me in the face and kept walking.

There is no way I’d have been approached if I was single.

How good looking she was I can’t remember, although I’m sure both mine and her beer goggles meant that it didn’t matter that much!!
