I never have any problem getting tickets for the bands I want to see because while nostalgia sells, when nostalgia meets niche, demand isn't as high.
Or in other words most think what I like is sh*t! LoL

I'm not a music snob, enjoy what you enjoy and to hell with everyone else.
Two things I absolutely agree with though, dynamic pricing is 100% a scam and Dublin is 100% a pain in the hole.

I rarely go to Dublin for concerts. As you said the whole process from transport, accommodation etc is a massive pain in the hole. This one Im going to on my way back from a family holiday. We're all going to go after we arrive back in Dublin airport(which is also a dose but sometimes unavoidable)
I am a massive music snob though.
Im already judging you and I dont even know what crap music you like.

Saw something that would have been of interest in September on a Saturday in Dublin.

Tickets 130 quid and hotels between 330 and 500. No thanks

Often better value accommodation can be got travelling outside city centre .look along dart luas and bus routes . Most concerts are catered for by public transport, means a bit of planning etc but there are plenty resources for public transport times etc after gigs. It can rule out going for pint afterwards but if you staying outside centre , go in earlier and have few drinks beforehand.

It would have to be someone/something I'd REALLY want to see now to make the effort to go up there.

Having to spend close to an hour afterwards getting back to your hotel kind of defeats the purpose of staying over for a gig.

Normally go for a six nations game and maybe one concert a year. Just going to go to Rome in February, better value than a trip to Dublin

Ah yeah I know , I live about an hour outside dublin , just a suggestion if its someone u really want to see . There's better value to be gotten but the travel is a compromise for sure but doable .

The less wandering around Dublin late at night the better. The place is dog rough.
