Club transfers 2024

Sure how many adult players are Duhallow and Avondhu picking from? ok maybe not 500 but i garuntee you well over 250/300 each.. both divisions are deplorable every year,

And on the point that if a player plays For his division then he should not be playing with the club.. is that not basically the same as a player transferring from his junior club?

I think to be fair imokilly being so successful just shows the calibre of hurlers from that specific area

Question

B O D transferred to Carrigaline (living in area i believe) but played PSHC with Bishopstown last year

I know he previously played with TMCC (home club) in football & BTown in hurling as I assume TMcC hadn't a hurling team

How was he still able to play with Btown after transferring to Carrigaline ?
He's actually transferring to carrigaline hurling as well for this year

Yes we do 😀

Thank you for having the courage to answer that question , many others here sidetracked answering it because they know the club is no 1 and the divisions mean fuck all

And those players would then become massive targets for big senior clubs.
No they wouldn’t, Jesus man it’s not the 60s or 70s when fellas came to work in the citR&y and joined clubs in the city because it was so difficult to return home

Most clubs are now playing at county board level and are getting plenty of competitive games with a chance to move up the grades, This constant fear of poaching by the big clubs doesn’t hold water anymore
R&B I'd disagree with re the 60 and 70s and players not transferring. Clonakilty seem to be poaching or attempting to poach junior footballers from smaller neighboring the last two years.

The chance to play at higher grade via divisions/colleges is essential for smaller clubs to provide a pathway for their stronger players to play at higher level.

You seem to be struggling to see this from the POV of a the smaller clubs.

Are there no transfer laws down west? If a club wants to stop someone transferring out they are entitled to do so, that’s how you protect the small club

So let them play at Divisional and Colleges and let the clubs play County Championship in a level playing field

I'd imagine the small clubs do their best to stop them but in a small place this would often lead to a bitter situation. I heard one of the cases last year ended up with solicitors involved and heading for the DRA. I'd say the issue is the poaching in the first place without repercussions. The laws don't stop this.
