Churches Converting to Appalling Music Venues

Many Churches are becoming Unused, Vacant. There is a widespread misunderstanding with people referring to "Amazing Acoustics" Most are indeed AMAZINGLY BAD. They can accommodate, and even suit, Choral, Organ, Classical, Music. But to be honest, this only true of Slow Music. The very long Reverberation of Churches, designed to confuse the Masses..... leads to Blurring and even Conflict of Chords and Melodies. Lyrics and Rhythm do not have snowball's chance in Hell. Most have little or no Heating, often Noisy.

Agreed. Churches in general are awful places for all sound including sermons by priests. But lots of people like gigs in churches because of the building aesthetics, reverence, history and so on. Softer, quieter acts can benefit from the haunting echo in churches. It adds to the atmosphere. St. Lukes does particularly well and sells out gigs all the time. I went to see a lively band there 5 or 6 years ago and the sound was awful so decided to avoid it.

ps: only nouns that refer to a person or place take a capital letter which doesn't look very professional if you're advertising your services here.

I crossed the Rubicon-Ly in December to watch Reggie in St Lukes Church and the sound was crap. I'm sure it would have been better if it was a music concert though. Maybe tear it down and put up a parking lot lot lot ....

I always thought we'd see a resurgence of nightclubs when the churches fell.

But Church in Dublin, in Jervis street, is proof that you're spot on DanDan.

The acoustic in there are fucking awful, you'd get a headache sitting there.

Your Name seems to claim you are or have a Full Member. Which is it? and are you advertising your Services here? Our disobedience against ancient Grammar Rules imposed by the British Empire is obviously a little Rebellion. It is one technique used by Us CunningLinguists. You could apply for Membership! Or...... perhaps you are simply wrong and just making up Rules to comply with your Title. "The Great Gatsby" seems widely accepted. As is the content of Winnie the Pooh....
