I’m quite anti gambling tbh. I’d be the very type of person to rack up gambling debts and get sucked into an addiction so I stay as far away from it as possible. I place at most 2 bets a year. Rarely even do the lotto.

No, as much as I like to have a laugh on here and take the piss, my posts were 100% genuine. What a day, week. From +4750 in a year to back to zero in 3 days. I got Woodhooh at 10/11, so I got 6136 euro back.

Putting on those bets wasn’t going put me or family in any sort of financial risk. Having said that, if the horse had lost, I’d have been gutted for a good while.

No regrets though, middle age is boring at the best of times it’s been some buzz, not just yesterday but the other bets I put on over the last year.

What made it sweeter, was that there was a really loud and obnoxious Dub in the pub I was watching it, and he was on the second horse. I was as quite as a mouse watching the race albeit, I wasn’t sure what’d happen fist, a heart attack or a severe brown trousers moment.

With about 200yds to go it looked like he was gonna pull an Arsenal but got a second wind.

Your approach to it is spot on by the way. I’m heading out for the day now and given myself a budget of two grand. If they all blow up on me then so be it, won’t make a blind bit of difference to my life.

I could go another 12 months without placing a bet then.

I put €10k on Matsuyama at 5/6 i think it was the Sunday morning of the 2021 masters. He’d a 4 shot lead. He shot +1 but managed to limp over the line.

That was not a relaxing Sunday evening.

Fair play Greg, you posted the loss before the win, and both bets before the races so no reason to doubt you! I remember the Cork bet last year as well

A friend of mine lost a significant sum on the AI hurling final last year because he had both AI winners the year before, and a bit like yourself he used those winnings as an increased stake. He had Cork early on and was sure enough of himself but we all know what happened next. I reckon he lost something at least in the region of your stake yesterday, if not more

The same cash would get you a week skiing with the family instead of 2 mins sweating it out with a durty dub :)
