Carp dying in The Lough

It's likely to be as the result of as yet some untraced parasite that has been transferred to The Lough and near Cobh by infected fishing gear. The fact that it hasn't affected other bodies of water in the region would seem to indicate that it's not water or airborne and that it's not being transmitted by water fowl.

Hopefully they'll get this sorted pronto

A bit too much concern about a load of non-native fish out the lough, when there are homeless people living in tents out there imo.

Id have thought so - get some scientist to identify the issue, fix it and then dump a truck load of some native fish into the lough when its ok again

carp is horrible shit only Poles want to eat anyway

It's actually their Xmas dinner, instead of turkey :lol!:

I think most of the anglers out there just like to torture the fish and then fuck it back in after they weighed it and got a selfie.

Has no one thought of taking a water sample and analysing it.
It is a stones throw to the Uni laboratories, where they got all the facilities for such a test.

No doubt samples have been taken but it takes up to a week to incubate some test dishes in order to complete some microbiological tests.
