Home insurance query now....we discovered we have a leak from a rad in sitting room, it has caused the wooden floor to buckle,
We got the floor ripped up yesterday and leak sorted, new floor to go in,
We have an excess of 275eu, If I claim from insurance will they have us jumping through hoops? I think the wording on the policy...damaged caused by a leak,
So on that basis they should cover the new floor cost,

It should be straight forward. Hold on to the damaged materials for viewing by the loss adjuster.

Generally never start non emergency work without the insurance company's ok. They often have preferred contractors and it might be in the policy to use them or there may be preferential conditions for using them
