Car Insurance query

It seems unfair, I planned on keeping it for another 3 years or so, I know at that stage id have got nothing but now I have no choice but to buy, It has shaken me to realise that out of absolutely nowhere something like this can happen, She just drove straight onto the main Rd, The poor woman was full of apologies to me as she was led into the ambulance,

Will her insurance company cover the cost of a loan car while you're waiting?

I was involved in an accident today, An elderly lady pulled out of a service station onto a main Rd without looking, I couldn't stop,
Ploughed into her drivers rear wing, both cars written off, A second earlier i would have gone straight through her driver side door,
My car is 2013 but in very good condition and driving very well,
Am I snookered here? Will i only get the market value of the car?possibly 4k max,
Is it fair that I will have to now buy a car and be at a severe loss financially?

@jimmym I'm glad to hear you seem to be ok and nobody was seriously hurt. An awful shock to get and very inconvenient so close to Christmas.

You will get the value of the car as recommended by an assessor. You might need to fight for a fairer valuation but given the low value of your car, you'll probably be arguing over €500 to €1k like...so pick your battles.

As others have said, the injuries can be delayed until after the shock passes. If your back etc flair up, get a check up as quick as you can, both for yourself and any potential claim you might need to make.

Allowing for the fact you grew up in the Hane, you should have no shortage of experts to help advise you on any injury claims
