I missed that, was it on tv? I’d like to think he wasn’t having a cut off anyone, just standing up for his own team.
If he meant that it’s easy for the lads knowing that they have huge support and playing in front of big crowds compared to the women’s team then that’s fair enough and he wouldn’t be wrong.

Comment was more in the context of his massive relief at the win, given the exodus of 14 players, and he was alluding that it's harder to keep womens team together as the women have to overcome bigger institutional hurdles (less organisational support structures, funding, expenses etc etc than the men) just to get to Croke Park, making their achievements inherently harder to pull off.

Essentially he was talking about the difference in system support between the 2 teams, rather than him having a cut off the physical effort or dedication of the lads.

I get why McCartan got player of the match and I won't disagree .. but I really liked the donkey work Condon was doing. She was everywhere.

O'Regan was in all the places Condon wasn't.

And that’s fair enough. I’m not sure if the interview was on RTÉ but I was just basing my post on the article and his comments.

I have some experience of comments being misinterpreted.

Cork had a great side back boned by Aoife Healy, Hannah Looney, Mackey Sisters, Laura Treacy

It was a huge blow to.lose these players.

Then Aisling Thompson had horrific injuries and Amy O Connor was no longer the power house of before (Amy scored 3-7 in the '23 final) Injuries took a toll. Maeve Cahalane had a very serious injury too.

Very few expected Cork to be competitive in 2026 especially after a very poor start.

Everyone involved deserves huge credit for an amazing rebuild and reclaiming their title.

Corks short passing game today was horrific. Galway read it so easily and the number of turnovers high up the pitch was shocking. Cork won because of a 15 minute purple patch at the start of the second half and some poor finishing/decision making by Galway. More ball and faster ball should have been going in to the ff line- remind you of another Cork team. !!!!!

For once let us be positive let everybody enjoy this Cork victory and yes mistakes will occur in the cauldron that is an All-Ireland final, however the Cork Team overcame these mistakes with belief in themselves, determination, skill and ability.

Well done girls well done to all.
