Bus Eireann

Nah, there are civil servants who have direct responsibility to project manage this

Direct your Ire that direction
Absolutely, but look around now at the way they have redesigned bus stops, they no longer go into a bay, those bays have been engineered again, so now the bus just stops on the road and delays everyone behind it.

A positive approach is carrot and stick, with the Green headbangers is all stick

Flagged that up yonks ago.

Removing indents at bus stops, like on Merchants Quay going East, is obviously part of a deliberate campaign to frustrate private car drivers out of the city and make people have to depend on busses.

The arbitrary reduction in on-street parking like on the Mall and Parnell Place is all part of the same ploy imho.

Bus lanes and bus-only streets are more of it. It might make sense if busses were reliable to turn up on time, or even turn up at all. But with the current lack of drivers and busses that’s a long long way off

And yes Ryan and the Greeners were only a few TDs so it wasn’t ALL their fault, but they were the king-makers for FFG, like Lowrey’s crew now, so they were the tail wagging the dog at the time

Fantastic. If you only need to get one bus to work and back, your daily fare just jumped in price by 70 cent in a lot cases. I'm sure hard pressed minimum wage workers will be delighted to pay an extra €3.50 a week to facilitate this initiative.

🙂
We've had that in Málaga for a number of years. It really encourages people to use public transport. 50c for all you can travel in an hour.
