Bus Eireann

Tommy the Thick has spoken, what a moron

Going back generations, buses have been moved between cities in this country.

But thick Tommy sees political gain amongst his thick followers of course.
Tommy the Thick.

Brilliant :lol!:

Tommy the Thick has spoken, what a moron

Going back generations, buses have been moved between cities in this country.

But thick Tommy sees political gain amongst his thick followers of course.
It's quite funny that only last Wednesday Sound_Ymon was going on about the same thing. There must have been an internal memo from helfast.

Anyway

PAD's 115 and 116 were both bought down from Limerick yesterday

PAD 115 is currently on the 213 Park and Ride

While PAD 116 is strangely on the 201, which is the Northside orbital route, are Bus Eireann trying to wind Tommy the Thick up ?

Oh Tommy, good fellow, with cap on his head,
Did curse at the buses while waiting in dread.
“They’re hand-me-down beasts from yon Limerick way
The rust on the wheels gives the schedule away!”

“They clatter and bang like a festival drum,
And smell of old diesel, and mystery gum.
The South gets the silken, the shiny, the slick
While we ride the relics, each one a trick!”

But still he climbs on with a mutter and stare,
Claiming, “One day they’ll give us a pair…
Of brakes that do work, and a door that don’t stick—
Till then, I’ll ride noble, on Bus One-One-Six!"

In Cork, where the Lee flows free and wide,
Lived Thick Tommy, with Sinn Féin pride.

A TD he was, with a voice not so grand,
Representing the folk of that Norry land.

But lately, a grievance did cloud his brow,
A matter of transport, a terrible row.

From Limerick they came, these vehicles old,
Second-hand buses, a story untold.

He'd stand in the Dáil, his figure so stout,
And let forth a moan, there was never a doubt.

" Demm Bussss," he'd bellow, his voice full of woe,
"Are relics, I'm tellin ya, Dey won't go!"
"De seats are all worn, the paintin is grim,
Tis a shame to ur county, right ta D brim!

D people deserves better, a modern fleet's grace,
Not these hand-me-downs, leaving no trace
Of progress or pride!

Oh, the shame and the sting,
These rattling old buses that Limerick does bring!

They cough and they splutter, they wheeze and they sigh,
Beneath the grey skies where the seagulls do fly."

He'd speak of the rust and the dubious smell,
Of journeys delayed, a veritable hell.

"D people travelling Northbound," he'd dramatically state,
"Are shaken and stirred by their terrible fate!"

The Minister would listen, with barely a blink,
As Tommy continued, right to the very brink
Of parliamentary outburst, a passionate plea,
For buses brand new, for all eyes to see.

So remember Thick Tommy, in Cork by the shore,
Whose battle for buses went on evermore.
A champion for comfort, a voice loud and clear,
Lamenting the hand-me-downs, year after year.

So we now have 8 of those ( Tommy the Thick referred to them as hand me downs ) PAD's now in Capwell, having arrived down from Limerick

On Sunday a new route is being introduced it will be number 31 going from Parnell Place to Knockraha and returning obviously.

Then at long last the restoration of 15 minute frequency on routes 214 and 220 will recommence.
