Budget Day..

I think someone from An Bord Pleanala said on the radio that they've already completed their planning stage which took 3 years and a day or 3 years and two days, he wasn't quite sure.

But the point is Dublin already exceptionally well served in terms of public transport is getting a brand new one. There's suburban railway stations being served out in Dublin; they've DART and they've Luas. Cork is still behind the 8 ball over 40 years on after dublin got DART and our suburban stations are long since closed down.

If you look at the Cork LUTS plan it spoke of much larger populations being in Cork but that was obviously stymied because of lack of investment in infrastructure down here compared to the sinkhole in the east of the country that has everything dragged into its gravitational pull.

Dublin is miles ahead of Cork however I wouldn’t agree it’s exceptionally well served. The DART is fantastic if you’re living on the coast.

Connolly station has severe congestion problems and the Luas is well over capacity for a large part of the day.

We’re catching up but we will never match Dublin. Dublin has a hinterland of 1.5 million people. Its commuter belt stretches to Dundalk and Portlaoise.

Nothing in the budget about banning HR so you can be a grouchy, miserable bollocks in peace.

I'll be onto Donnchadh O'Leary in the morning.

"Peroni beer sold in Ireland has an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 5.0% or 5.1%, depending on the specific product and retailer."
"Birra Moretti in Ireland is most commonly sold as a 4.6% ABV (Alcohol by Volume) lager, which is the alcohol content of its L'Autentica standard offering, though a variation, Sale di Mare, can be found at 4.8% ABV. The 4.6% ABV is consistently listed by major retailers like SuperValu and Tesco as the standard for the Premium Lager."

As for the general offerings in Ireland I think they're all 4.5% or less. Someone told me there's more excise charged above the 4.5% threshold but not sure how true that is.

Benny?

Leading Drinks

The report shows Smirnoff, Guinness, Bulmers, Jameson and Coors are still the nation’s number two, three, four, five and six brands, respectively, while Santa Rita, Casillero del Diablo, Rockshore and Corona retain their number nine, ten, 11 and 12 positions.

Everyone of those is 4.3% as far as I know, except for Corona which is 4.5%

Tax is per percent of alcohol. The higher the alcohol the higher the price.

You're just a naturally argumentive knowall arent you? Yet apparently cant be taken to task for it.

In the Irish market it is.
All the main beers here are either 4% or 4.3% Even Heineken which is 5% everywhere else including the north is only 4.3% in Ireland and tastes accordingly.
🤔
Hmm... It's always you who starts the arguments and bad vibes though isn't it? I know you don't like me, fair enough. I won't lose too much sleep over it though. I can be taken to task by people on any topic who have similar living experience of it to me.
In my previous post I wasn't referring to the Irish market as I'm more interested in what happens in Spain which is where I've lived since 2002.
Now clear off and get pissed on 4-4.3%!😏

Instead of given the pensioners an extra tenner, they should means test it, that would identify those in need of it most
I think they should consider a 3rd rate of the state pension for those with private pensions worth x amount. Those people are highly unlikely to be on the breadline.
