Budapest.

🙂
My wife and I are heading there for four days at the end of the month.
What's it like price/quality wise for food and drink?
Good places to go and see and areas to avoid?
Advice appreciated folks.

It's excellent.
The cheapest place Ive been in Europe.
If you were on a budget you could live on a shoestring by renting an airbnb and going to supermarkets and takeaways.
Some tourist places are expensive but thats a choice you can make and not necessary to see authentic Budapest.

Great city Lee, very affordable, great food and bars, nice people, some spots to visit,

Fantastic viewing point of the city and across to the Government buildings, go across the chain bridge to see it. Get the funicalur up to the castle, great fun.

Lots of history although quite dark

Go to one of the thermal baths, fab architecture.

Also, Hungarian wine can be quite tasty , check out some of the wine tasting places,

It seemed safe enough, but we didn't venture much from both sides of the river and stayed in the old Jewish Quarter.

Great city, enjoy.
