Belfast is a great town. Calmed down and cleaned up a lot in recent decades but there's still neds near the interfaces because "themuns have it in for us".
The Falls is now miles ahead of The Shankill because people have generally tried to move on, while many on the Shankill yearn for their prominence of yesteryear with a slowly dawning realisation that those days of empire and relative (to the Falls) privilege are never coming back.
Stay around town or up by The Bot and youre grand. Was up there a couple of years ago on business and we parked up near The Rock a place I knew of old and our accents were as welcome as the flowers of May, but even in town where we were doing business everyone was as nice as pie as ever.
Treat people with respect and the vast majority of time it'll be reciprocated.
