I did stop my kids from wearing their cul camp stuff while we were out sightseeing though, which I have never done anywhere else! I am sure it would generally have been fine, but didn't want to risk them getting abuse from some gobshite.

I was witness to one horrible unionist bigot being really rude and aggressive to a young black man who was serving him in a shop. That was the only negative experience.

We spent a week up the North, including a few days in Belfast, a couple of years ago. It's fairly obvious from the accent where we're from. I'm assuming as approx 50% of the population are prods then half the people we met in supermarkets, shops etc were prods. Everybody was extremely friendly and helpful. I'm sure like everywhere you'll get the odd nutter but I certainly got a good vibe from the place.
