Just back from my holidays up North, first time to visit Derry City & got to the famous city & the Bogside area, lovely little place from a historical point of view, i'd say it is more concentrated an area than Galway City which is more spread out whereas in this city all within the confines of the city walls. More history to the place than Waterford City with that city's Viking heritage, in this city the Siege of 1689 & the Battle of the Boside 1969 which led to The Troubles. Peace Bridge looks good too.
Later on visited Belfast, been there before and it is a nice city, got to see the Falls Road in West Belfast & it was really interesting seeing all the murals. Must say it is very unique, don't know any other place where you would see something like that, even went by a nice park in the area which was very nice.
All in all it was a great trip. A lot of social history there & the weather was typical Irish rain. If you do go there be sure to have rain gear. This time of the year just before July is a good time to go up there & there was no problems with the people or anything, very nice.
