Batsh*t Crazy Green Party

Eamon Ryan is the Noel Browne of our time.
History will be very kind to him.

Noel Browne was hounded out of the place by the Church, conservatives and the private consultants. Now we claim him to be a hero and visionary, but at the time, he was very unpopular.

The same will be said of Eamon Ryan.
He took on the status quo.

Got things done as per his manifesto and not out of selfish cash driven greed like FF & FG.

Made tough decisions on our behalf to help the country along and mitigate against some of the worst effects of climate change.

Even tried explaining it to rural simpleton millionaires like Danny Healy-Rae (Tissh jusht the weather)

Sinn Fein are even too scared to have any climate policy.

There is a whole generation coming up, highly educated who will not gamble their futures on Healy-Raes or Fitzmaurice etc.

There is still a sizeable amount of people who will vote Green. Even after a stint in government, their support held up quite well.
Even a stint out of government will see their support rise hugely again, given the shit storm our climate is at the moment.

Sorry but Ireland isn't special outside the M50 and the huge numbers of farmers and rural communities with solar, wind turbines, signed up to re-wilding and bio-diversity projects.

Doing "What you can" in any emergency is pretty much everything as floods, excessive heat and fire do not require your opinion.

Everything is impossible until it is overcome and you have to try for your families sake and future generations at least

They are not all rural simpletons in the country and way ahead on insulation and SEAI grants take-up even though their representatives will tell them all sorts of backward nonsense as a soothing balm.

Further more the use of the word "Ideology" is completely disingenuous in a real world climate emergency existential crisis.

You might as well be saying to a building owner that all their fire alarms, fire extinguishers, escape stairs and alarms to protect the occupants are simply an "ideology" as just health and safety gone mad as sure anyway there is a volcano burning away in Iceland for 40 years.

We as a State will be facing huge fines if we do not meet our targets.......not as any political party or an individual.

International Banks will not invest in countries that do not take the required mitigation measures

Insurance companies across the globe do not treat it all as an "ideology" but a clear and present danger to property, infrastructure, life and limb.

Just ask the businesses in Midleton about "Particular geographies".
It is staggering to me the "Avengers Assemble" attitude any criticism of Ryan or the Greens invites.

I posted about him today on his stepping down.

And I've posted before he would have had more success and more seats and power to do what he wanted if he wasn't pushing an outlook that might apply in Dublin to the rest of Ireland.

I didn't mention farmers.
I didn't mention policies.

I mentioned ideology driven methods.....being so locked in to what his own personal view is that THAT becomes what he expects a government to implement. When for example, he could have parked that ideology, brought forward region or city specific proposals aimed at addressing congestion, pollution, climate change etc on a regional or targetted basis instead of a one size fits all when Ireland isn't Dublin.

That's what I mean about ideology driven methods.

If you believe in green policies and you believe in the green agenda, as you do, then you want as many people in the country to buy into it.

How do you expect an elderly man to make appointments in the CUH from Skibbereen using public transport alone?

How do you expect people to cycle from Carrigaline or Carrigtwohill to the city centre for work every day ?

Practicalities and pragmatic solutions for the country that all contributes and gets the buy in from all of our citizens not just those already bought into it.

Which politician is even suggesting that?

All the investment in Bus Connects in Cork, the hundreds of millions in suburban rail in Cork currently on site, all the new rural link services that are now all over the country and excellent..................but the M50 and Dublin?

Have you even been to Dublin lately?

The place is a disaster for all forms of transport, a pollution traffic choked hellhole for locals and unfortunate visitors.

You can choose your ideology but you cannot escape facts and science.

You can buy into it or you can just keep wanting to burn stuff but facts will always catch up with you.
