Attack on armoured vans in Italy.

This morning, one of the criminal groups involved in armored car robberies in Italy struck again. The attack took place on the highway connecting Lecce with Brindisi (Puglia) and was carried out in typical fashion. Explosives, military-grade weapons, and vehicles were used to block the van's path. This time, two Battistolli armored vans were stolen, and the escape route was blocked with a torched truck. The thieves engaged in a shootout with Carabinieri, resulting in two arrests, and the rest are being sought.

If you are of a certain age you'll remember every Thursday when a Securicor van would have an armed convoy of up to 5 or 6 Garda and Army vehicles as it dropped off the moolah to various banks around the country.

A buddy of mine works for the ESB in tralee.

He said that when they switched from getting weekly cheques to automatic bank transfers there were two hold outs who refused.

Presumably to hide income from.their wives or just on the principle that it's better to distrust everything your employer says no matter how beneficial it may be.

Every Friday the securicor van would have to go to the depot to give these two fellas their pay in cash right up to about 2 years ago

Imagine the cost of that like
