Anyone Interested in starting a political party ?

Fuck . I forgot I was going to sort the country out . Sorry lads , It's all my fault the state the country is in , Could solved it all if we'd started 15 years ago . hindsight eh

It does need a liberal party though. Both fiscally and socially.

And yes, last time I voted in Ireland, it was for the PDs. If they had continued, I would have stopped voting for them because of their abandonment of liberal social policies.
Yup.

The government should be providing services that they're good at providing. The currnet government has shown that it is generally crap at running public transport companies, electricity companies, health services, social services and its record on education services is patchy.

Government should essentially be management of the country's resources and helping maintaining and improving the relations between dispirate groups of people. It should be a conduit, through which money should move, as efficiently as possibly, from tax revenue to people providing services to people who really need them.

It has no business running those services in a top-down fashion, that's the old Fordist approach that works fine in manual labour intensive factories, but has no place in a knowledge economy. Most companies start to bloat horribly once they get above 60,000 worker. It's why many of the world's most successful tech companies are around about that size. Why then is it ok for the government to employ hundreds of thousands of workers?

A bit further left than I was, especially as a "customer" of Thames Water and having been on both sides of a lot of outsourcing agreements...

How's life treating you?

Water Crowds are the most vile , lowest of the low , bottom feeding vampires humanity has ever spawned .

next they'll be taxing the air . mark my words they'll try . " Sure we need the money for the carbon capture filters to take out the pollution we put into it to make all the money we already have , and sure we're not going to pay for it , we'll make the plebs pay "

Ah, I wouldn't go that far. But I am fairly annoyed that my bill has gone up 40% in the past 2 years, Thames water has built up liabilities of £20 billion (and rising quickly), while paying out over £7.5 billion in dividends. Nice for Macquarie who added £7bn of debt while taking almost £3bn in payouts. Not exactly a fan of the private service delivery model any more.

It’s what I would always warn people about

I’ve been reading some David Graber stuff recently and there’s lots of interesting things to mull over in it
“Debt the first 5000 years “
And “ A new history of humanity “
