Anyone Interested in starting a political party ?

I'm thinking about it , but I wonder is there a barrier to getting one off the ground and growing it . Anyone here have any particular knowledge ?

I think I'll call it the "Social Contract Party"

It'll have a very unique standpoint and very different views on how politics should be conducted .

Obviously I want to get this off the ground quick , in time for a March Election maybe ?

You want to start a party with the word "social" in it?

Good luck with that.

Any better suggestion ?

The idea behind it is essentially to provide a basis for a social contract between the state and the citizens / businesses
The business of politics could then be structured around how well you honour that contract , and be less about idealogy and more about performance.

It's a radical idea but I think it's one that's worthwhile and could have broad appeal , gaining support across society . It would be an attempt at win/win solutions, as opposed to the old idea of competitive , "our boys get rich while we're in" ,politics.

The idea being , if it's broken , fix it and if it's not broken , leave well enough alone .

don't we have enough parties?
if we tried out any of them besides fianna fail the country might have some hope.

people in ireland always go on about how they're all the same while ignoring the fact that its always the same party.

who knows? labour and fine gail might be dynamite. the rainbow govt. was a good one and only failed to be re-elected because FF threw out a zero-tolerance line on crime that they quickly abandoned.

look at crime now for fuck's sake.

I don't think we can get real change with the parties we have ,

The system is loaded in that way , so that everything rolls along the same no matter what party is in place , because each of the parties turn out politicians of the same ilk, character and calibre , The only thing that changes is the particular penchants of the parties in government.

Fine gael like to fuck the poor ( hard )
Labour like to fuck Big Business ( Gently though , because if the bosses couldn't afford golf memberships , then the union reps couldn't either )
Greens Like to fuck anything that might cause pollution

Fianna Fail like to fuck everyone equally , they're magnanimous that way .

You can only break that cycle by putting in place a new party , which is founded on the principle of not Fucking anyone . Attract in people who have no Problem doing a bit of work , real work , for a great wage ( because in fairness it is a good wage ) and would genuinely like to improve the country , as opposed to people who've had to cut and slash their way to the top and are culturally programmed to behave that way.

Wallace how many candidates do you think you have?
Which constituencies are you planning to run them in?
What is your (the) current policy platform?
What financial backing do you have (or not)?

I agree we need a new party. But if it's going to be done - it should be done right.

I think we need - new political partys capable of delivering.

We have so much waste of public money.

Labour can't even express an openion on the Croke Park deal
Enda Kenny - after spending 40 years in our Dail - what has he achieved.
SF? God Awful
FF - why has the McCarty report not been implementedd?

Repped.

FF have been in power continuously for the last 13 years. They have been out of power for just 3 of the last 23 years. And for those three years FG and Labour did an excellent job. Unfortunately the Irish people, in their wisdom, decided to replace them with a semi-educated gangster from Drumcondra and we know what happened next. This mess has been almost entirely the fault of FF - they were in charge; they deregulated the banking system and took "donations" from property developers in exchange for generous tax breaks. It should be an open-and-shut case, but no; apparently "They're all the same" and all politicians are apparently to blame even the ones who haven't been near power for 13 years according to this retarded logic. If a party fucks up, the solution is simple - kick them out and give the other guys a chance, not create a new party from scratch. If you look at the FG and Labour politicians, they're generally streets ahead of their FF counterparts (not that that'd be hard, I know). They're also a better prospect than some half-arsed, non-existent party dreamt up by some nobody on the INTERNET.

These are great things to know . You can be in the party . I like the way you're thinking
