An Post - Very Poor Service

Anybody else finding it awfully long to receive post? It’s very poor at the minute.
Anyone here work or have a family member work for An Post who might be able to explain what’s going wrong?

I received my letters from KING Billy and Stevie Cooper.

I think that their service is massively overwhelmed and either understaffed or poorly staffed.

An Post took on the delivery fulfillment contracts for Vinted, Shein and, I think, Temu/Ali Express a while back. These retailers, perhaps not so much Vinted, but the Chinese ones are absolutely pumping shipments (most of which are low value and low quality products) into Ireland.

Add to that the fact that An Post is also a delivery partner of tertiary sellers on Amazon (inc. World Of Books, Music Magpie, Awesome Books etc.).

The service is flooded with packages and it's jamming up deliveries.

I recently ordered a new credit card, the bank said it would take 1 - 3 working days. 8 days later the bank rang me asking why I hadn't activated my card - still hadn't received it.

EDIT: The other thing is - Fastway went to the wall a while back so now, as a Joe/Jane Soap sending a package, you only have the likes of An Post/GLS as an option for low-cost couriers in Ireland thus adding to the bottleneck.

My postman told me last week that vinted delivers have exploded.. said delivery packages are creative.. ball dresses being delivered wrapped in corn flake boxes and sellotape

I find an post more reliable for packages than DPD for instance

I find An Post good for packages, but they may have taken their eye off the ball delivering "ordinary" mail. I haven't received a particular document I'm assured wasn't posted out to me a couple of weeks ago, and I continue to get mail delivered to my house with someone else's surname that lives about 100 yards away. I've been on to An Post about this a couple of times before and it stops for a while but then starts happening again - maybe a new postman - but lord knows why they think this guy lives in my house
