Absolute scumbags on Popes quay

Luke Hyde drowned in the Lee yesterday ,
My condolences to his family,
This is a terrible tragedy but what makes it worse was the dozens and dozens of people who instead of rendering assistance decided to video and live stream instead as well as knowingly impeding emergency services ,

If you were one on them on popes quay yesterday know this -you are an absolute scumbag, you have attracted huge bad karma and it will come back on you ,
I’m disgusted ,I believe scum like this should be prosecuted .
RIP.

Modern society where everybody wants to be the first with the news, They should be ashamed of themselves, Id say something if these were teens
but i bet majority were adults, I witnessed similar on merchants quay recently at lunchtime, Some poor unfortunate was in the water, Thankfully was saved but
there must have been 100 people there recording it,

Jimmy I can’t fathom this at all ,
This is the same disease that has people going online and hating on peoples businesses instead of giving constructive criticism in person ,where fellas project there own lazy lives on to others at best and downright bully at worst with all the predictable consequences,
Imagine being that person ,that armchair warrior who never took a risk in their lives and who are so black souled that they could whip out their phones on popes quay ,a curse on them all ,

I think by nature, we stay and watch events unfolding. History is full of images of a crowd looking on as some poor fkr meets his maker. It's the filming of it in the modern era that is as baffling as it is grotesque. Why? For what purpose?

As for rendering assistance....unless you know what you are doing, especially when water is involved, I reckon the best thing you can do is throw a flotation device. Jumping in and trying to rescue someone who is in fight or flight mode will inevitably increase the work load for the rescue services.

Poor show all round Cork. RIP

They could have attempted to throw a life buoy.

The lead firefighter on the scene was quoted as saying there was no evidence anyone even attempted it and there were buoys in the stations along the quay

You are right of course re rendering assistance ,I suppose what I’m trying to say is that at the very least ther did not have to whip out their phones ,I just find it unbelievable
