4 points for a win!

There was talk a while back that the english FA were considering bringing in 4 points for a win to force teams to attack more. With all the defensive play that has crept into the game especially since Greece had their victory, maybe it is time to bring in 4 points for a win to liven things up a bit. I think the league is averaging something like less than 2 goals a game.

Read that today alright, attendances are way down in england.
Tickets at old trafford and the bridge are going on sale to the public for fuck sake.
The ordinary fan is being priced out of the game, some premiership grounds especially in london are charging a fortune.
Newcastle is another very expensive ground.

its a possabilty would that mean two for a draw?, do any other leagues have four points for a win? or different to the english system of three for a win one for a draw,

or do something like the yanks had a few years ago. Have a spotter comp at the end of a draw so that only one team will get the point from a drawn game.

4 points for a win seems excessive...

Maybe this would work...

3 points for a win
2 points for a score draw
1 point for a no-score draw

Yeah something like that would probably work. Something needs to be done alright because the top 3 teams have identical matches every week against teams that are happy to sit in their own half for the entire game.

I agree with Shammy's solution!
With all due respect 3 points is plenty incentive to attack!
And 4 points would mean Chelsea would already be about 24 points.............!!!!!

I think it's a silly idea but sure they can always change it to 5 points if there's ever a 0-0 draw again. Doesn't 4 points make the 1-0 win more important?
