2026 Premier Senior Hurling Championship

I'm not just talking about winning teams.
A good coach still gets the most out of teams. For certain teams with limited potential getting to a quarter or semi might be progress.
Also he's had success in places like Kilmoyley
No offence lr but that's fair waffle. I'm sure the Barrs wouldn't consider a quarter or semi as "progress". Citing Kerry club hurling as a barometer of anything is beyond a stretch.

The Barrs wouldn't because they have a side that's good enough to win the senior championship.
My point is that if a coach is only judged on the counties they win then they majority are going to be seen as failing.
I've seen plenty good coaches who didn't win a whole lot but they improved players and brought them on. Only one side will win the final but plenty can improve their standards.

I understand what you're saying but I don't think he's a good fit for the Barrs. Maybe down the grades he might help a team improve but don't think he is suited to modern management of a top team.

IMO Barrs biggest problem is lack of depth in the squad, Little or no impact from the bench,

Possibly but they're close enough to what's needed to win a county I think. Lads like Cunningham & Buckley another year older and physically developed. They'll be close.
I think Kevin Murray will do well as coach. I just don't rate Paudie as a manager, think his manner is poor and can't see players dying for him, I just think he's the type to create hassle in a camp.
