While I agree overall, definitely a harsh red (in real time I only saw Hickeys reaction to the hit, not the hit itself) Id also say none were egregious wrong calls either where you cant understand how the ref made the decisionWatching the replay back, I agree with other posters that the first red was a head-to-head clash (I thought it was accidental shoulder-to-head).
Ref was mostly decent but the three big calls (disallowed goal, first sending-off, possible Kilbrittan red) all went Kilbrittan's way, and at least one of them (the Easkey red card) was the wrong call.
I'd agree with that. V hard for a ref to call those high-speed collisions where there is contact around the head. With replays it's a lot clearer. While I agree overall, definitely a harsh red (in real time I only saw Hickeys reaction to the hit, not the hit itself) Id also say none were egregious wrong calls either where you cant understand how the ref made the decision
In fairness to the linesman and ref, they are seeing a collision at high speed and a player jumping up an collapsing holding his headI would think the linesman might have had a bigger say in the red than the ref
and jumping up the second the red is shownIn fairness to the linesman and ref, they are seeing a collision at high speed and a player jumping up an collapsing holding his head
