2026 Premier Junior Hurling Championship

Didn’t know that. How long have Tullylease been disbanded for? Sad to hear it had to come to that

I think they last played Duhallow Junior A hurling championship in 2013. Then amalgamated with Lismire for 2014 and 2015. After that players went to Kanturk, Meelin and Milford. The Lismire contingent tog out for Freemount.

Have Kanturk still got only 1 adult hurling team?

They've a Junior B team also, 1 won, lost 1 so far in the championship.

5 of starting kanturk and 1 sub would be from Lismire area. Underage teams seem to be having problems.

Their second team are in the Duhallow Junior B championship. Outside of a senior panel of 18/19 players, they would be very weak.

I didn’t realise that.
There can’t be many Prem Senior clubs where their second team is down Junior B.

Just themselves and Newtown, though Newtown lost the Junior B county final last year.

Fr O’Neills won the Junior B county in 24, they’d have been the only other recent one.

Newtown also. I expect they will walk the junior B county. Have had some very good underage teams coming up that would make up the most of their b team.
Would I be right in saying Bobby Carroll is eligible for this junior b team also?

Bobby Carroll is playing for Dromina Junior A's this year.

Milford were eventually going to come down Junior A. I think they are doing okay at underage. They were with Ballyclough underage which logistically wasn't ideal but it kept both clubs going. Milford joined with Ballyhea this year and they made the U16 Premier 1 Final so there's hope for them yet. I think they will do fine at Junior A.

On Tullylease, it was a pity they closed their doors so suddenly. They had a good Junior teams around 2010-2014. Fine pitch back there and all.
