2026 Premier Junior Football Championship

They had a premier 1 minor football team this year so they should be. Doubt there's any other Junior A team playing at that level under age
Iniscarra had a few minor p1 football teams before they got promoted to Premier junior. Seem to be on the up now off the back of that

Who are you backing?? Inniscarra nothing to lose but seem to be looking very good
I’d tip inniscarra after seeing them play this weekend. A game where they were full of intensity but able to take off players with some time to spare. Looked serious going forward and SOD didn’t look his usual self, probably not match fit but shows they have other options to kick some scores. I believe SOD didn’t score but the other Inniscarra wing forward kicked 7 from play.
I was most impressed by their centre back though. Marshalled cashman and was like glue to him. Cashman has been hugely influential for millstreet but the inniscarra number 6 shut him down and levelled him with 2 fair shoulders on seperate occasions. Cashman still hit 3 points from play but millstreet had no other options going forward really.
I think the break won’t benefit canovee much if I’m being honest, not much of a cross over with cloughduv hurling so lads are going nearly a month now without a competitive game. They are obviously a good footballing side and will take beating but with inniscarra out of the hurling and building some momentum ill tip them to win by 3 points.

Unsure about the ''not much of a crossover'' as I've counted 9 played against na piarsigh in the football and barryroe in their hurling game. Open to correction as i was just looking at reports and not actually at the two games. I had heard there was close to 15 playing with both canovee and cloughduv this year, but only around 3/4 playing with cloughduv and kilmurry.
I assume canovee would have had a game against one of the other teams that got to semis in grades above but you're right that wouldn't be the same as a championship game like Inniscarra got. Can see this game going either way.

Nicks my favourites to win it out.

Yes you could be right definitely. I was only basing off other years where the crossover wasn’t huge maybe 5/6 players.
Nicks are going well infairness.
I would say there is 4 evenly matched teams left in this grade which is great to see.
