2026 Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship

Delanys weren't far off it. Relegated from senior in 2006. Premier intermediate relegated 2008 and relegated to Junior A in 2009. Think they're Junior B now these days by choice.
Ya, Delaneys are struggling, didn't play hurling championship.last year. Played Junior B this year and lost there 3 games in the group

Bobby Carroll who is Dromina so no impact. Agree with you that it's a stupid rule though.

Are Cork the only county with this "U-18 means you can't play Intermediate or Senior" Rule?

Under 18s are allowed to play Senior hurling in the GAA, provided they have turned 16 before January 1st of the championship year,, though local county board rules may restrict younger minors (under 18) from playing high-level senior club competitions.

Im not sure a truely awful year for Bishopstown, there is nothing coming through hurling wise….

Bishopstown have been in a bad way in recent years. Their second hurling team is playing Junior B I believe.

However, they are in an U14 P2 Final and seem to have a half decent U15 and U16 sides as well.

There are no guarantees, and it'll take a long time to feed through at adult level, but maybe there's the beginning of a light at the end of the tunnel for them. The priority for them must be to sustain as high a level as they can until they can bring some lads through.

When Kilmurry got to the all Ireland final they had 2 18 years olds starting that weren’t allowed play in the cork county championship at all.
Walked onto the team for the Munster campaign which just shows how bizarre the rule is.

100% and alot of smaller clubs who might have a very good minor would definitely play them in adult teams if they were allowed .

Maybe senior clubs would have enough talent to not need a good minor but clubs with smaller panels would need them .

I was talking to a Bishopstown supporter at one of their games and he said they would be better off dropping down another grade as he felt they have a few good young lads coming thru over next few yrs ..
