2026 Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship

A landmark victory for Aghabullogue as they saw off neighbours Éire Óg in impressive fashion in the Muskerry derby played before a large and vocal crowd in Cloughduv on Sunday evening.

Not since 1974 had the team in green and white taken down Éire Óg in championship hurling, as they finally ended the long wait for a win over their local rivals in the Co-Op SuperStores PIHC Group 1 Round 1 battle.

Was at the Eire Og v Aghabullogue game.

Handy enough win for the Aghabullogue lads in the end.

3-22 to 2-15. Eire Og will do well to avoid relegation. Big and strong but carrying a few poor hurlers.

5 pointed frees in the game. Pa O Driscoll from Bride Rvrs reffed it. No free given for steps, barging, throws.

Bar an obvious foul on the Aghabullogue keeper for the first Ovens goal, i thought he did very well. Typical derby with loads of belting but no dirt.

Consistency is key though. On another day there could’ve been a free-taking shootout.

Mad how teams increase the physicality once they figure out the ref isn’t a fanny.
