it may not be the reason a team qualifies or not, but teams going on full blown benders after 1st group game - and losing said game, then getting a bus to Cork after another game. And a Premier intermediate team also doing same. Whats point of training all through winter months then ?

God be with the days when you have a drop and 2 pints on a sunday morning after mass before heading home to check if your gear is clean after training the previous wednesday and head off to the game ..

Young fellas enjoying themselves, give it a rest. People going on like a Cork Intermediate A group game is the be all & end all.
EP won’t be the reason any team qualifies or not.

If lads want to go to EP then off with them, haven't heard of any club stopping lads from going.
But the reality is that any fella serious about championship is not going to EP or on a mad weekend a week before championship. Those lads/clubs that do usually get found out in championship. Why spend 7 or 8 months training in wet and muck to waste it all the weekend before. And why would any serious manager want to get involved with a crowd that dont take it as serious as other clubs.
Ballygiblin players fully entitled to go to EP, but similarly they cant be too disappointed when they get relegated or cant be too shocked when they find it difficult to put in place a management team next year. Or when the club finds it a bit more difficult to get people to volunteer time for them.
