2025 Senior A Football Championship

When you look at a few of these teams in the semis, you'd have to question whether only 1 up to PSFC is justified.
Dont really get this point..are you suggesting that the four of teams are good enough for Premier Senior ? In my opinion only Eire Og have the sustainability to remain at Senior. The other three remind me of Templenoe down in Kerry.

Is that a negative? And does it have to be sustainable? Small rural teams get a once in a lifetime group of players to get to senior, the margins are so small to get up there, wouldn't 2 up and 2 down be better. The teams that are improving get up faster to get value out of their golden generations, and the teams that are barely clinging on find their level quicker (Nicks being an example of that) Senior shouldn't just be exclusive to the large clubs.
And it is a fair point comparing them to Templenoe, but isn't there something beautiful about seeing teams like that breaking into the top table, even if it is for just 1 or 2 years.

To flip it, are the teams that are in Premier already good enough for it?
Carbery have failed to win any round robin games since 2022 but remain in the grade still and could survive valleys.

You could add abit more wiggle room with a second relegation spot and you could get a few games out of it:

Bottom team auto relegated, next 2 play off for other spot.
Or
Have another round robin with the bottom 3 teams, only the winner staying up.
Or
Have a match between the premier relegation winner and Senior a final loser
Or
Go bananas and have each Senior A group winners play a Premier group loser

@Reservedcitizen summed it up well. It doesn't matter if a club can sustain long-term in the top tier.

Would Knocknagree, Éire Óg or Cill Na Martra offer more to the PSFC than Valley Rovers, Carbery Rangers or St. Michaels did this year? Even if a club just makes it for 1-2 years, would that help inspire another generation there?

You could have another 2 week break and have the winner of the PSFC playoff play the runner-up of the SAFC final.

I think theyd offer the exact same thing. You have to win something to go up end of.
