I have heard similiar to Trav, I recall a radio interview in the last year or so with the head of Clubber and he mentioned Clon as the biggest pull for streaming numbers.

I don't know why that would be a surprise to anyone, it certainly wasn't to me. I don't think people within Cork realise just how highly regarded Clon are in GAA circles nationally (blinkered by jealousy perhaps?).

It's not just our past success, our incredible record of almost 100 consecutive years in the top flight, or even or world class facilities that draw admiration from GAA people in the know around Ireland but most importantly it's our reputation of playing football the right way.
As one Armagh man said to me only a few weeks ago, "There's only 2 teams who can call themselves the Brazil of Gaelic football- that's Clon and Kerry".

Correct. Our underage structures are in such fine fettle that we are producing more quality footballers than we know what to do with. Hence many very good young footballers will transfer elsewhere as they can’t get game time with Clon. Naturally we don’t stop them, we wish them well, none of this 96 week nonsense.

A bit like how we’ve seen Kerry lads like Spillanes and Micko’s sons, Billy Sheehan, Conor Cox etc plying their trades in other counties
