2025 Premier Senior Football Championship

What a poor and generic comment, but then again i would nt expect anything less. The last team to bring home Sam included, Eoin Cadogan- Douglas, John Miskella & Paddy Kelly - Ballincollig, Nicholas Murphy - Carrigaline. All warriors and men i would gladly have on any Cork team. Pierce O Neill from East Cork and a proud dual club in Aghada another absolute warrior.

Its this type of bullshit, snobbery and archiac thinking that will hold Cork back if anything.

Cork minor team who won an all ireland yesterday for example had three of the starting backs from East Cork. Tell me they did nt give their all wearing the red jersey. Another few lads from mid cork area from Ballincollig and Ballinora were superb yesterday. Demographics in the future are going to dictate that more and more players from the populated areas will represent Cork in the future than the west. Tradition and single code clubs in the west will always give representation and rightly so, any cork team will be the better for it. But your other comments are biased and ill informed.
Good post and some very fair points. No doubt there are a few good football men from outside of West Cork but unfortunately they few and far between, and what we'd lose from excluding players from those clubs we'd gain ten-fold from concentrating on the guys from true football clubs. That's the point I'm making - prioritising the selection and development of players from West Cork would lead to huge gains come adult level.

Add to that in the 2010 team. Michael Shields The Barrs, Paul Kerrigan Nemo, Goulding and Sheehan Eire Og, Colm O'Neill Ballyclough. Aidan Walsh Kanturk, Donncha Balllydesmond. Foxy the West Cork men were marked absent in the main in 2010.

As a barrs man I would say where would we be without Nemo BMorgan F cogan B Murphy S Coughlan P and J Kerrigaan T Nation D Allen S fahy C Corkery J Kavanagh D Kavamagh E O Mahoney MCroninx2 M A martin plus a few other

I noticed that Haven have West Cork Distillers as their jersey sponsor from the league win at the weekend.

Which I don’t have a problem with, a large locally owned company whose products I quite enjoy myself.

But…. Isn’t that banned?

Only for clubs exclusively catering for u18s.

Muskerry beat Avondhu last night in a high scoring affair.
Muskerry vs Carbery in the final on Friday, should be a good game that could swing either way. Cork footballers are away so muskerry will be without COJ (Didn’t feature last night either), Ruairi Deane could be away for Carbery.

How do you mean the Cork footballers are away?
