2025 Premier Senior Football Championship

Kevin Driscoll must be 37 or 8 at this stage can’t see him cutting it at top level club football
Haven’t seen Driscoll play for a few years, but plenty players who previously played intercounty level are still mainstays at club level in their late 30s.

Fiachra Lynch was one of the top scorers in Senior Championship last year at 37. No reason O'Driscoll cant have an impact with Clon.

KOD hasn’t played club football in 2 years I believe and while he arrived in good shape he has had some catching up to do.

Luckily in Ahamilla he has access to the best coaches and facilities in Cork bar none. That coupled with a great attitude has seen him make tremendous progress in the last few months.

With talented additions from the underage ranks like Dylan Harrington and Des Kenneally there’s no guarantee KOD will be a starter for us, but I have no doubt he will be a hugely valuable addition and may well cement a starting berth.

He did not do much with caheragh I doubt he will be a driving force behind the Andy scannell cup coming into Astna square

Agreed none of the O'Driscolls pulled up any trees for Caheragh, but to be fair to Kevin and particularly Brian they were usually good performers in red.

Clon are so close to bringing Andy Scannell back to the Brewery Town that even the most minor improvement could tip the balance in our favour. Whether KOD will play a big part or a small part in that remains to be seen. If we are to be successful we will need our big players to produce the goods, the likes of the Whites, Shanley, Clancy, Daly and Liam O'D.

A fair point but I think even the most strident anti-Clon zealots would accept that the Carrigaline result was an aberration.

Fair play to Carrigaline, they performed on the day, we didn’t. They were hugely up for it, beating one of the big 4 was like a county final for them, as evidenced by their celebrations after the game.

We were seperated by a point in 2 games from the county champions, and that was without the best half back in the county, Liam ODonovan. Add to that a former intercounty midfielder, a Cork u20 and a number of other potential stars and you can see why it would be a brave man who’d bet against the Brewery Town this year.

I know very little about the senior football championship but even I'm fairly certain Clon aren't contenders. Their best chance of a county over the next few seasons will be if they get relegated to Senior A and have a go off that one instead.
