2025 Premier Senior Football Championship

5 finals coming up and the participants are 3 from Seandun,3 from Muskerry and 1 each from Avondhu and Duhallow.
Would it be appropriate to have a minutes silence before the senior final for the death of football in Carbery.
Ilen in the Intermediate A final, which would make it 1 for Carbery at least.

What I'm hearing is that it is a credit to Nemo and the Barrs that such small local parish clubs can consistently show their footballing superiority over large ponderous clubs who have plenty of bodies but no football 🤣
Barrs a small club there going from barrack street always the ways upto airport. Out college road over by glasheen and upto eagle valley . Some pick in nos there

The one quibble I would have with the Barrs and Nemo is that despite their tradition and immense heritage their support pales in comparison to comparatively tiny rural areas like Ross and the Haven. Surely they can do better than the faint cheers produced by a couple of hundred fans in a county semi final. Embarrassing stuff really. We all know football means more in West Cork, but this kind of support is truly pathetic. I'd suspect Clon and the Haven would bring more fans to a league final than Barrs and Nemo will bring to a county final.

Looking ahead to the final, its a very close call. Both sides will look at the others semi final performance and see weaknesses.

The obvious standout performance was the Barrs win over Castlehaven but they've had tough stretches going through their other matches.

On the flip side Nemo were more comfortable consistently but haven't hit the same high point.

Lads like Cronin and Sherlock will keep the scoreboard tipping over for both sides. I think the real points of comparison will be if Nemo can lock down Hayes and will they be able to have someone to cut through on goal and create danger. In aggregate Nemo score goals well enough but don't have a specific danger man like him. Kerrigan (and Ronan Dalton) did well in getting good ball in beyond the arc against Newcestown when they came on and might be where a Nemo victory could come from.

You haven't a clue.
Why would anyone get another year after 3 years without winning a championship game.
I had it confirmed to me by a Ross man who is very well placed within the club that Seamus will be given 1 more year in charge, and he is likely to be joined by a well known and well respected coach who I won't name. Players are said to be relatively agreeable to it.
Personally I think he deserves 1 more year to bring them up, he has done enough as a player and a coach IMO to deserve that.

In significantly more important news, it was also confirmed that Mazzer will remain at the helm in Clon. Obviously there is huge player and club backing here, we recognise this guy is one of the best young coaches in the game and we're lucky to have him. He's hugely popular with the players.

It's widely acknowledged that Clon had the strongest squad in the PSFC and due to sheer complacency we let it slip this year. I know the character of these players and I can say with absolute certainty that it won't happen again. It's encouraging to see these guys out training already and in the gym, getting ready for what will be a career defining season for many in 2026.

Out training 9 months before the 1st round of the championship. They'll be burnt out Fox.

Is the drink in Moks or Flannerys gone off?

The best senior players are training year round these days. Not necessarily on the field or collective sessions but they are all doing their own bit in the gym or on the field/track.

We’re lucky in Clon that we have by far the best facilities in the county and players have on site access to indoor and outdoor running tracks and world class gym facilities.
Naturally you can have the best facilities in the world and they’re no good if the players don’t have the motivation, luckily we have both, our lads are incredibly driven and self motivated.
