2025 Premier Senior Football Championship

Tadgh o connell scored the winner vs duhallow.
Sean o neill, David o Leary and there’s a few more
Fair enough.
Here is Ballincolligs hurling team from the weekend.
Tadgh O Connell and Sean O Neill started, he came on as a sub against Douglas. Can't see any other footballers outside Dorgan?
Three is still more then the 1 I thought.

BALLINCOLLIG: J Linehan; F Denny, J Murray, B Dore; B Coleman, D O’Sullivan, D O’Leary; M Oldham, T Morgan; S O’Neill, T O’Connell, D O’Mahony; A Wills, C O’Driscoll, B Keating.

Subs: J Dwyer for J Murray (h-t), C Dorgan (c) for M Oldham (46), P Kelly for D O’Mahony (60), P Morris for A Wills (61).

What about D O Mahony isn't he podsie's son ? He plays football

Cant see it as its been that way all year and id say fixtures are set now especially for finals where they will move on to a munster campaign in early Nov ..
There is precedence, in 2022 there was a 2 week gap from hurling to football senior finals with the barrs competing in both

Nemo Rangers v Newcestown 2:00pm @ PUC

Nemos disciplined defence should see them through here. They conceded very few frees in the group stage which will curtail Newcestown scoring. The match up on Buckley will be interesting. Think Nemo will back Molloy given both players are quite physical. If he gets the right help Buckley may struggle especially on a bigger pitch as athletically going backwards there are a lot of questions around him. Kick outs will have a big bearing and expect a big battle around the middle. MM versatility with kicking should give Nemo the edge. Newcestowns zonal shape may ask good questions of him though. The only way I can see Newcestown in a game here is if Nemo resort to their usual kicking style and lump it in. Newcestown play a zonal system which should punish teams that kick the ball in. Patient play will get them to a final. They should be experienced enough to know this.

Nemo by 6 here in a similar game to the Mallow SF last year. Maybe a damp enough affair.

St. Finbarrs v Ballincollig 3:45pm @ PUC

Interesting game but hard to back Ballincollig given there performances in the groups but the same could be said of the Barrs. Better teams do bring better performances from Ballincollig. The barrs have an athletically good team and the big pitch will suit them. I dont get the same sense from Ballincollig. Hayes caused them a lot of trouble last year at the edge of the square but following his performance last weekend against Haven do they keep him around the middle? This game might be tighter than people think but barrs should edge it.

Barrs by 3.

I think these may be straightforward-ish, Nemo don't really get caught bye underdogs too often and Barrs will have plenty over Ballincollig, they haven't been great and were lucky to get over a less than vintage Duhallow side who just ran out of steam

This semi-final pairing is as damp a squib as we've had in living memory, the only glimmer of hope is an unlikely Newcestown victory.
Many neutrals (and CCB officials for financial reasons) were dreaming of semi finals featuring the big 4 and a blockbuster final between Clon and the Haven that would have rivaled 1994 for gate receipts.
Instead we have 3 city teams who'll bring less than 200 supporters each, no doubt Newcestown will travel in force though.
Many neutrals are already looking forward to 2026, the prospect of the much hoped for Clon-Haven final will have to sustain them while they suffer through what will likely be an uninspiring end to the 2025 PSFC.
