Barrs have not beaten in champioship since 1989 county semi finalWell it'd be a repeat of the last 2 finals, of which Haven won both, and they were even more comfortable than the scoreline suggests. But Nemo seem to have definitely improved on last year, while Haven might not be as a cohesive unit as thought before the Newcestown game.
I think the Barrs will beat Haven, and win it out, but they have a mental block against Nemo, so it's still all to play for if they meet in a final.
The report I heard on the Haven v Newcestown game suggests that Newcestown coped with the horrible conditions a lot better, and Haven took a lot of shots that were just not on, and uncharacteristically took a lot of ball onto contact, where they were turned over. So I cant write off Haven yet.
Clon can’t play football properly ffs not to mind hurling.. the brewery town are punch drunk trying to avoid relegation the last 7/8 years… If you put a Hurley in a Clon man’s hand sure he’ll only hop up on a ditch and think he must shoot one of your own again..Your reply is suggesting that Clon players are somehow limited that they cant go out one week and go hard for football and the next week go hard in hurling. Both the Barrs and Newcestown have proved it is possible, even the Haven have proved it is possible. This approach has battle hardened these clubs players. The current approach has only yielded 3 county final appearances in 30 years and we have stared relegation almost as many. Don't worry our well meaning men have it all in hand and we wont leave you out either.
Off the top of the head I count 11 lads are starters in both football and hurling.The Barrs and the Haven have a crossover of approximately 3/4 guys playing both codes

I heard on the Echo podcast that Paudie Kissabe played for Clyda Rovers last Sunday at 2pm and was then coaching Douglas at 4pm. They said that a similar instance occurred a couple of years ago when he was training Eire Og.
It is very admirable playing for your club at this or any level when you are 45 years of age so fair play to him. But surely if you are coach of a Douglas team playing in the Premier Senior Championship, this is not acceptable. Douglas want to give themselves every chance possible, their coach turning up at throw-in and not being there for the build up is not ideal.
I was at the Skibb vs Dohneys game (in that sad excuse for a pitch in Drimoleague) and I thought 2 of the skibb lads were carrying a bit of timberAlso heard today in the Brewery town that both Skibb & Ross have same s&c coach. He’s a CrossFit coach, I’m not aware of him being involved with sports teams previously. Clearly Clons approach of working with S&C experts who have decades of experience in the area of high performance for field sports is a sharp contrast to the road Ross have taken.
