Expecting Douglas to win a meaningful game is the boldest call of the lot, and I hope you are wrong.

I would expect the Barrs to beat a poor Mallow team.

You never know with the Barrs though, they are a solid side and well experienced but they lack the speed and flair of the big West Cork 2.

They are very one dimensional and rely on their physicality and Sherlock, any team that matches them physically and quietens Sherlock can beat them.

Ballincollig to beat Clon. The village played a good share of the football against KNG but were unlucky with an astray back pass that set up there demise. I do think Ballincollig would’ve went the distance against KNG had they not mad that mistake.

From Clons point of view I think their club has taken an awful lot of beatings lately. Clons minors and u21s both recently lost big games against familiar oppositions. I also heard that the men from the brewery town were beaten by the town that never reared a fool.

If that is true then I find it hard to believe that Clon will win this one. It was a full strength Clon team bar Gough who mightn’t play st the weekend.

Verdict is out…Unanimous decision…the Villagers win this one

A fair point but also illustrative of my point, they overpowered the Haven physically and Sherlock was on fire.

My point isn’t that they’re a bad team, just that if you can match them physically and stop Sherlock you can beat them.

They’re a solid outfit and probably the 3rd best team in the county as it stands, but they don’t have the flair and panache of the Haven or Clon.
