2025/26 Premier Senior Football Championship

Standard of reporting is gone way down - Mistakes are in nearly every report.

Latest one in todays echo on a review of the senior football championship:

Everyone would of expected Clon and Haven to be the 2 teams on full points after 2 rounds

They played each other in the 2nd round so not sure how people expected both teams to have full points.
Brutal stuff!

Clubber source has said they are desperate to show the Clon- Haven U21 final on Sunday and would be expected to draw more than most senior club championship games.

It doesn't surprise me. Clon-Haven finals at any age group are box office and these are 2 top quality u21 teams littered with senior footballers and future stars. It is the de-facto county final as both teams are head and shoulders above the city teams.

The one major downside (particularly from a Clon point of view) is the absense of Darragh Gough. If this Clon team can win without one of the best young forwards in Ireland then it will be a truly incredible feat.

Even if Gough isn't play in the U21 final today, they'll still be too strong for the Haven. And I've heard that Gough is playing.
All square at half time. Top quality game between the 2 best u21 teams in the county.

Gough has started but can't move. Such is ability he is making a decent contribution but is essentially playing at 50%.
Dylan Harrington also injured.
Clon have made a brilliant comeback having gone down 6 points at the start.
If they win this without 2 of the best young footballers in Cork it will be a victory for the ages.
