Highfield about 2012/13, I think he might have gave Midleton go who were Senior in League of Ireland but could be wrong in that. That was when he was retired from Cork and Cloyne were on the decline where he used play soccer a bit in the winter as pointed out with Ballintotis. I remember they winning a cup final one year where he scored a few goals in final. Cusack and a few more wouldn't be in favour even though a bulky guy needed winter training. Like most east Cork clubs football is only to be practiced after you are out of hurling though they went on to win a Junior A football county
He was supposed to be some character. That was a heartbreaking free for him. He hit the ball so hard it came out past him after hitting the crossbar. That's why I see it they kinde lost 4 in a row though they would never would have beaten Newtownshandrum who were made of a different steel but dexterity to their game. Na Piarsaigh killed them in 2nd half at midfield as for Setanta's counter score steal. Erin's own also won it in the 2nd half closing out supply to Paudie Sullivan to prevent goals. Those were the 2 years they nearly had it. Some team though and misfortunate for them especially now as they probably slip a grade which they had done before championship restructure but u could see them slipping another grade next year though they still have a team of pride that will give some fight in relegation but so will Carrigtwohill.
Be some craic in Carrig if the Kerryman gets them relegated before exiting to take the Kerry senior job!
Ballincollig aren't a cert by any means, they got a relatively handy group so haven't been tested yet. Watergrasshill are the team on form and the winners of Ballinhassig and Carrigaline will have a lot to say too.
