2024 Senior A Hurling Championship

There is a short highlights of the Cloyne Na P final on Youtube. The Rock makes an incredible diving block on Setanta and John Gardiner scores a wonder point. I can recall the Na P backs absolutely cleaning out the Cloyne forwards. Hurling was very different then and was literally get it and lump it. If you're driving ball down on Gardiner Mark Prendergast and Sean Og it's like feeding milk to a baby.

Paudi Sull must have only been 15 or 16 in that Final. In today's world it'd possible he wouldn't play senior till he was 19.

Cyril Farrell once said launching high balls down on the KK half backs was like throwing nuts to a monkey.

At the time there was serious stories about the training they were doing. It was claimed there was a couple of times they trained early morning before work and were back again that evening for another session, not sure how true that was.
Another thing I remember was they always went for goals, they used finish with unusual scorelines that could be like 5-8 but were so tight at the back teams couldn't catch them on points alone and they rarely conceded many goals

He was at a later stage, after he finished with Cork I think. All kinds of talk about how much he was getting paid for it. It didn't work out at all from what I recall

The team was well past it's best by then to be fair.

I think Cusack was player coach at some stage but not sure of it covered across the 3 finals

All true, one of the players said it to me if you done it to an animal you'd be done for cruelty. Their was a few drops outs along the road because of commitment
