Carrigaline, Kanturk, Knocknagree and C na Matra would be on a par If not better than St Michaels, Mallow, Douglas, Eire Og, Carbery Rangers, Newcestown and Valley Rovers.
Ballincollig & Clon a step above these teams.
Eire Og offering little at this level now and would nt win Senior A if they go down, Carbery should beat them in relegation final.
As a snapshot in time right now, you aren't wrong but broader context probably needed a touch.
Carrigaline have been buoyed by the return of Coakleys and Brian O'Driscoll transfer obviously. But Niall Coakley and BOD plus a lot of their main players are getting on a bit. They could win a Senior A this year but they don't seem to make good use of their huge population overall.
Kanturk have an aging team barring a few of the younger good players like Brian O'Sullivan, Ryan Walsh, Grantas. They could also go close to Senior A this year but not a chance they'd maintain Premier Senior medium term.
Knocknagree and CnaM are very similar to Kanturk. Cill na Martra a bit less so possibly as they have the strong bunch that contested a county u21 final in 2017 I think it was, losing narrowly to Douglas.
All the above are strong enough right now.
Flip side, Michaels decimated by emigration and dual players who have opted out. But they do have a good young crop so future may be ok. 8 or 9 of their regulars this year have been U21s. Simialr to Glanmire/Sars, their difficulty is keeping good underage footballers playing and not slipping into hurling nazi mode.
Mallow similarly have had good minor teams over the last 6/7 years playing Premier 1 or Premier 2 football. They will be ok if they keep a good share of those.
Douglas - who the fuck knows. An abyss of talent. Not getting any better either.
Eire Og have had some good underage teams but the loss of a few big hitters may effect them in mid term. Could drop this year.
Carbery Rangers are in bother and if they drop this year they could struggle. Their great group that contested 2 Finals in 2014 and 2016 is slipping off.
Newcestown are Newcestown. Look at how they've done over the last few years in football alone and it's remarkable. They are some club and the spirit and doggedness they show is as good as you could wish for.
Valleys are a strange one. They've had some very strong underage teams in recent years. Likes of Jacob O'Driscoll is an excellent prospect at 21. They seem to lack pace though largely. I could be wrong.
Ballincollig - again, winning the demographics battle, they should be contending non stop but aren't. If they can get a groove going though and get the right people involved it wouldn't be a surprise to see them winning a county or 2 in next few years.
Clon are going well this year. Again, a huge town that should be pushing up to the very top but haven't. Went a long long time without having a decent underage team but they do have some bright young talents like Darragh Gough who is playing good stuff.
So those teams above, looking at medium term I would expect Ballincollig, Clon, Cill na Martra, Mallow, Newcestown, Michaels and maybe Douglas to be in around the top level. But of course a bad run of emigration or anything could change all that.
