2024 Senior A Football Championship

And Ballingeary are, or course, very unique in club GAA circles to be "investing" their management. I wonder if anyone else will be decide to follow the trend.

I heard John Evans actually paid CNM for the privilege of managing them last year.
I’d say by the end of Evans tenure in CNM that might have been true Jukka!

Seriously, I wasn’t having a go at Ballingeary. Loads of clubs have outside managers and coaches, we know that. Not doing it for the good of their health!

Ah I know, you're not the only one who mentioned "Johny Cash", but to be fair if you were to start making scapegoats for this you'd run out of land to hold them.

Worth saying though, it's the smaller clubs at this grade who are really punching above their weight that are actually more reliant on getting lads in. Likes of CNM, Beal Atha, Knocknagree, Kiskeam are very small rural clubs who tend to compete in lower grades at underage. They have very committed club members, but don't exactly have an enormous number of guys who have either the ability and/or capacity to prepare teams for a higher level of club football. It's a world of difference from a Nemo or a Barrs who have a very large pool, packed with intercounty playing experience, to pull from.

That's the worry I'd have about proposals to bring in a "only existing club members in management" rule as some have suggested.

All very salient points.

Just on a point of note though, the Barrs were managed to a county title in 2018 by Cahirciveen's Ray Keane (now with Aghabullogue). Nemo are currently managed by Waterville's Robbie O'Dwyer, so it's not just smaller clubs!

Newmarket vs Knocknagree- DRAW
Kiskeam vs CNM

One of the most exciting grades the past few years.

Dohenys v Kanturk - Kanturk by 5 or 6

Carrigaline v Ballingeary - Carragaline, they will go far you’d imagine after an excellent league campaign.

Clyda v Bishopstown - Tough one to call, I expect whoever loses this will lose their other two games as they are weak and Will ultimately end up in a relegation final. I’m gonna go with Bishopstown as Conor Corbett is in America and they depend on him a lot of course.

Skibb v Fermoy - Skibb to win convincingly

Newmarket v Knocknagree - the game of the round in my opinion, should be a cracker, gonna go for the draw.

Kiskeam v CNM - Cill na Martra just about

Agreed- always a great grade. Closest we have. That is very confident shout on Kanturk. Would you fancy them to win it outright?
